Dutch Baby or German Oven Pancake! (it's like an eggy french toast/ custard/ souffle/ omlet. lol) 3 tablespoons white sugar 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 3 Tbs butter 4 eggs 1 cup milk 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 Tbs brown sugar 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. In a small bowl, mix together white sugar and cinnamon; set aside. 2. Place butter in a 9 inch cake pan and heat in the oven until melted. 3. Whip eggs and milk. Pour in flour, vanilla, brown sugar and beat until well combined. Pour batter into hot pan. Sprinkle on sugar and cinnamon. 4. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until puffed and golden (it will flatten out when you take it out of the oven). Dust with confectioners' sugar; serve warm. (I pour syrup over mine, or for a classic Dutch Baby, sprinkle with freshly squeezed lemon juice, and dust the top with powdered sugar.) | |
